Joining the visit included representatives of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and local authorities’ representatives.

At the visit meetings, Deputy PM Nguyễn Xuân Phúc extended Christmas and New Year greetings to Catholic dignitaries and followers. He also spoke highly of contributions made by the Catholics to the development of the country.

The Deputy PM stated that the Vietnamese Party and State always guarantees people’s right to freedom on belief and religion for Vietnamese people in general and the Catholic community in particular.
