Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng extends Tet greetings to Vietnam Buddhist Sangha

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng on January 31 visited and extended Tet greetings to the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha based in Quan Su pagoda located in Hanoi.

The deputy minister accompanied by Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga was welcomed by Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Vice President of the VBS’s executive council and Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang, Vice President of the VBS’s executive council.

While extending best wishes to all dignitaries of the VBS, monks, nuns and lay Buddhist in the country on occasion of Tet, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng took the chance to share with the Buddhist dignitaries about outstanding achievements of the country in 2023 and highlighted practical contributions of the VBS.

The deputy minister also asked the central VBS to continue guiding the VBS chapters in localities, Buddhist pagodas and monasteries for well implementing the Prime Minister's telegram on ensuring a civilized, safe, and economical lifestyle in belief and religious activities during the Lunar New Year of Dragon and Spring Festivals 2024.

In speaking with the guests, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu thanked the visiting delegation and had exchanges with the deputy minister on key Buddhist affairs last year, especially successful regional and international Buddhist events and forums.

The most venerable affirmed that the VBS always strives to well implement the motto “Dharma - Nation - Socialism” and promote traditions of safeguarding the country, bringing happiness to people, and closely accompanying with the nation.
