Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng, accompanied by Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Tiến Trọng and representatives from the Home Affairs Department and the provincial Committee for Religious Committee, was warmly welcomed by Bishop Toma Vũ Đình Hiệu, Chairman of the Committee for Social Charity - Vietnam Caritas, and priests and clergies of the Committee.

Speak at the event, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng highly appreciated practical contributions made by Vietnam Caritas over the past years. Vietnam Caritas and Caritas in dioceses and parishes have well observed the motto of the Committee for Social Charity - Vietnam Caritas “living the gospel in the nation, promoting love and charity among people in the society, and providing emergency assistance in case of natural disaster and pandemics”, he added.

While extending congratulation to the annual meeting, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed hope that under guidance of Bishop Chairman of the Committee, bishops of the dioceses and other Catholic dignitaries, Vietnam Caritas would continue joining hands with local authorities for assisting the poor and disadvantaged people in society. 

For his part, Bishop Toma Vũ Đình Hiệu took the chance to thank Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng Affairs, the GCRA leadership and local authorities for creating favorable conditions extended to social, charitable activities of Vietnam Caritas, and stated that Vietnam Caritas would continue closely collaborating with state authorities for boosting prosperous and sustainable development in the country.
