Delegation of Islamic dignitaries, deacons visit Central agencies

A delegation from the Islamic communities in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces of Ninh Thuan and Tay Ninh paid visits on August 17 to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization and the Central Committee for Ethnic Affairs.

At the visiting receptions, representatives of the Islamic delegation exchanged with the hosts religious and social activities in the localities. The delegation also informed that leaders of the Islamic Communities in Vietnam has proactively participated in the signing of the coordinating program on environmental protection and climate change response for 2015-2020 period.

At headquarters of the Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, Chairman of the Party Committee Trương Thị Mai highlighted positive contributions of the Islamic communities in Vietnam to the cause of building and developing the country. The representative committees of the Islamic Communities in HCMC and provinces of Ninh Thuan and Tay Ninh well promoted their roles as bridges between Islamic followers and local authorities and encouraged Muslims to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and social charitable activities, she added.

During a welcoming reception at the VFF Central Committee, Deputy President of the VFF Central Committee Trương Thị Ngọc Ánh expressed hope that the Islamic organizations in Vietnam would continue encouraging Muslims in the country to participate in the cause of the national construction and defense, as well as in the environmental protection and climate change adaptation.

Later in the day, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee for Ethnic Affairs Phan Văn Hùng welcomed and exchanged with the delegation of the Islamic communities in HCMC and provinces of Ninh Thuan and Tay Ninh.
