A solemn ceremony was held on August 19 at Phat Quang pagoda located in Kien Giang province’s Rach Gia city on occasion of the 12th death anniversary of Most Venerable Thích Giác Phước.
Attending the event were Most Venerable President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Danh Đồng and large numbers of monks, nuns and Buddhists in the locality.
Local guests at the event included Chairwoman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Lê Thị Vệ and Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trương Hoàng Anh.
During the ceremony, Buddhist monks, nuns, followers and delegates performed commemorating and worshiping rituals and paid homage late Most Venerable Thích Giác Phước as well as recalled great contributions made by Most Venerable Thích Giác Phước to the development Buddhism in the locality.
