Cuong temple festival opens in Nghe An

Cuong temple festival in Nghe An province’s Dien Chau district is taking place from March 17-21.

The festival featured traditional activities with the opening, procession and worshipping rituals, folk games, art gallery, etc which attracted large numbers of local people and visitors.

Cuong temple located at Mo Da mountain, Dien An commune was a worshipping place dedicated to the successor of Hung King - King An Duong, who established Co Loa citadel, the capital of Au Lac – the second nation state of Vietnamese people.

The temple was recognized as a National Historic Site in 1975.

The Cuong temple festival aimed to honor contributions of King An Duong in building and defending the country, as well as preserve and promote traditional values of the nation. The temple is close to Hien seaport – the legend place where the King killed his princess by a sword then kill himself.
