On August 28, at Ben Tre Holy See (No. 100 Truong Dinh, ward 6, Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province), the Correct-Path Caodai Church organized the 90th annual meeting of the Humanity Council.
Attending the meeting were Cardinal Ngọc Nho Thanh; Archbishop Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Church; representatives from Ben Tre provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and 335 delegates from 206 parishes in 12 provinces and cities.
Archbishop Thượng Tấn Thanh chaired the meeting. As reported at the conference, during the previous religious years the Church organized over 2,600 doctrinal classes; built religious facilities with the total cost of over 32 billion VND, and conducted charity activities with the total of over 11 billion VND; provision of health care, free examination and check-up…
Speaking at the ceremony, the representative from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs highly valued good achievements by Caodai followers at localities in the previous religious year and expressed hope for continuous promoting of the Church’s fine tradition and successful celebration of for the 90th founding anniversary of Caodaism to be held in October 2015 in Hanoi.
According to the Charter of the Correct-Path Caodai Church, the Humanity Council functions to monitor religious activities of the Church and religious practice by followers at parishes. Each year, the Correct-Path Caodai Church organizes the annual Humanity Council conference to understand aspirations and record achievements of the Church in order to report to the Upper Council and the Church.
