Construction of new Protestant church started in Lam Dong

Klong Ngơr A Protestant chapter under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) (South) in Lam Dong province’s Lac Duong district solemnly held a ground-breaking ceremony on October 20 for the construction of its church.

The event saw the presence of Pastor Member of the ECVN’s Executive Committee in charge of pastoral affairs in Lam Dong Kon Să Ha Hăck, Pastor Chairman of the ECVN’s representative committee in the province Bùi Phụng and over 500 Protestant dignitaries, deacons and followers in the province.

Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Văn Đức was amongst distinguished guests at the ceremony.

Klong Ngơr A Protestant group was established in 1949 with 100 members and recognized as a chapter under the ECVN (South) in 2009 with Pastor Liêng Jrang Ha Tông as its superintendent. The new church will be built on an area of 200 m2, at an estimated cost of VND one billion.

Ground-breaking ritual

Speaking at the ceremony, while extending congratulations to the Protestant chapter, Chairman Ngô Văn Đức sent best wishes to female members of Klong Ngơr A Protestant church on occasion of the Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20).
