The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Ha Tinh province’s Huong Son district held on September 24 the ground-breaking ceremony for starting the construction of Huong Son pagoda located in Son Tay commune’s Ha Chua village.
The ceremony saw the presence of Senior Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Central Committee Buddhist Guidance Thích Thường Chiếu, Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ha Tinh Thích Viên Như, and Vice Chairman of the Commission for Mass Mobilisation in the province Dương Xuân Hòa, representatives of district authorities and Buddhists in the locality.
Once completed, Huong Son pagoda located on an area of 35,200 square meters will include a three-entrance gate, a steeple, the Three Jewels worshiping temple, accommodation for monks and nuns, a guest house, a main Buddhist worshiping area, ancestral and mother goddess worshipping places, etc.
The construction of the pagoda with the investment cost of 50 billion VND is expected to be completed in 2022.
