Attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Phạm Dũng; Director of Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs under the Steering Committee for the Southern region Hà Hữu Liền, representatives from the local authorities and other religious groups and over 100 delegates representing Cham Islamic community in An Giang province.

 Speaking at the Congress, Chairman Phạm Dũng acknowledged practical contributions made by the Islamic Community in An Giang province to the socio-economic development in the locality and expressed his hope that the Islamic organization would strive to improve the material and spiritual life of Islamic people in the locality.

The Congress nominated 17 members to the Representative Committee for 2015 – 2020 tenure with Mr. Haji Jacky as its new Chairman.

Currently, An Giang province is home to over 15,000 followers with 12 mosques, 16 oratories, 34 dignitaries, 16 Ahly and 166 deacons.
