NDO—President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân has wished Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and laypeople a merry Christmas.

In a letter to all Catholics and Protestants on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas holiday, the front leader said as part of the bloc of great national unity, Vietnamese Catholics and Protestants have always promoted the tradition of patriotism, kept themselves in good company with the nation and actively participated in various social movements launched by the VFF.

Over the years, Catholics and Protestants nationwide have actively followed the line and policies of the Party and State and assisted victims of natural disasters and underprivileged people, he said.

They have also enthusiastically responded to campaigns launched by the VFF and partaken in social welfare activities, the fight against drugs and social evils and environmental protection, he added.

The front leader expressed his hope that Catholics and Protestants would carry forward the patriotic tradition, continue to march together with the nation and lead good lives, both secularly and religiously, thereby practically contributing to the national construction and defense.
