Company launched for studies, translation and print of Buddhist scriptures and publications of Buddhist culture

Tan Vien Buddhist Cultural Publication Ltd was formally launched at a ceremony held on October 7 at its representative office in Hanoi.  

Present at the ceremony included Most Venerable Thích Thanh Điện, Deputy General Secretary cum Chief of the Office of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Central Committee on Buddhists’ Guidance Thích Chân Tín, Venerable Chief of the VBS central Buddhist guidance committee’s office cum Abbot of Khai Nguyen Pagoda located in Hanoi’s Son Tay city Thích Đạo Thịnh, several scholars and representatives of press agencies, and large numbers of monks, nuns and lay Buddhists from Khai Nguyen pagoda.

During the ceremony, Venerable Thích Đạo Thịnh, Director of Tan Vien Buddhist Cultural Publication introduced the company’s leadership board as well as operation fields as registered with the Department of Planning and Investment in Hanoi.

Venerable Thích Đạo Thịnh took the chance to share at the launching ceremony about the idea and purpose in the establishment of the company that aim to promote accuracy of the translation of Buddhist scriptures from foreign languages and reduce the printing cost of Buddhist scriptures and Buddhist cultural publications by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist establishments across the country.

The Buddhist dignitary also informed that through the Tan Vien Buddhist Cultural Publication Limited, Khai Nguyen Pagoda would print and present free publications of Buddhist scriptures and culture, including publications for children with Buddhist education values.

As informed, Tan Vien Buddhist Cultural Publication Limited has its representative office located at No. 28 of Tran Binh Str. in Hanoi’s Nam Tu Liem District, and units in charge of studies, translation, graphic design and a printing workshop, in addition to internal management units.
