The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Hanoi held on December 20 an annual meeting to review its performance 2018 and outline plans objectives for the next year.
Guests at the event included Priest Chairman of the central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics Giuse Trần Xuân Mạnh and Member of the Party’s Central Committee cum Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngô Thị Thanh Hằng.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Secretary Ngô Thị Thanh Hằng spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Catholic solidarity committee and Catholic parishes to the city, and took the change to extend warm Christmas celebrations to followers of Catholicism in Hanoi.
The Deputy Secretary also asked the municipal Catholic solidarity committee to promote emulation movements for building advanced parishes and observe state laws, including the new law on belief & religion.
On the occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the municipal Catholic solidarity committee presented certificates of merit to 58 Catholic groups and individuals for their outstanding social contributions in the city in 2018.
