Closing ceremony for events marking 35th VBS’ founding anniversary

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held on July 7th a closing ceremony for series of events celebrating its 35th founding anniversary in Thanh Tri district’s Yen Phu pagoda.

Attending the closing ceremony included Most Venerable Member of the VBS Discernment Council Thích Thanh Đàm, Most Venerable Standing Vice Chairman of the Central VBS Executive Council Thích Thanh Nhiễu and large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries and followers from locality .

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Ngọc Tấn and representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front also joined Buddhists at the event.

As part of celebrating events “Exhibition - Jade Buddha - Scientific Seminar”, the photo exhibition "Achievements of the VBS" introduced the developing results of the VBS over the past 35 years, including the development of the VBS’ 13 functioning bodies the VBS’ Executive Committee in 63 provinces and cities. The seminar “Buddhist culture of Vietnam - Unity and Diversity” has contributed to preserve and promote cultural values of Buddhism, creating unity in diversity and enriching the cultural identity for sustainable development.
