As many as over 1,000 Protestant pastors, evangelists and deacons from 34 cities and provinces in the South attended the event taking place in the Bible and Theology Institute under the Protestant church.

Distinguished guests at the event’ opening ceremony located in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2 included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng, Acting Director of the GCRA’s Department of Protestant Affairs Thiều Thị Hương and representatives of concerning central and municipal authorities.

The general conference of the church’s clergy council is the second biggest religious events of the evangelical church, after its general assembly.

Speaking at the event’ opening ceremony, while extending congratulations to the evangelical church, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng spoke highly of practical contributions made by the clergy council  to patriotic and social movements during the past tenure. The Vice Chairman also called on the church’s dignitaries and followers to uphold fine traditions for economic-social development in the country.
