Chut ethnic group in Ha Tinh province receive gift sets on its traditional Tet festival

The Border Guard Command in Ha Tinh province in collaboration with the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee in Huong Khe district held on December 15 a celebration of the Cham Cha Boi traditional New Year of the Chut minority ethnic group residing in Rao Tre village of the district’s Huong Lien commune.  

Traditionally, every year,the Chut ethnic group celebrates the two traditional festivals of Lap Lo (filling the hole) on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month and Cham Cha Boiinthe twelfth of the eleventh lunar months the lunar calendar. The Cham Ba Boi festival is held after the harvest of the rice crop, which aims to thank gods for the successful crop and pray for harmonious weather and a nextbumper crop.

On the occasion, the provincial Border Guard Command, the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee of Huong Khe district presented 45 gift sets, each containing sticky rice, pork, fish and other necessities worth nearly one million VND,to Chut ethnic families.
