Chieu Trung temple festival in Ha Tinh recognized as national intangible heritage

Thach Ha distric People’s Committee in Ha Tinh province held on June 15 a ceremony to receive the certificate honoring the Chieu Trung temple festival as a national intangible cultural heritage.   

The event saw the attendance of Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Trần Nam Hồng and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Thị Nữ Y.

The festival is associated with Le Khoi temple historical and cultural relic site located in Long Ngam – Nam Gioi mountain in Thach Ha district.

Chieu Trung festival takes place from the 1st to the 3rd day of the fifth lunar month to mark the General Le Khoi’s dead anniversary every year. Le Khoi temple and tomb were recognized as the national historical cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1990, as a national art-architectural site in 1993. Chieu Trung temple festival was added to the list of the national intangible cultural heritages in 2017.

During the ceremony, participating delegates and visitors performed a procession of the recognition certificate honoring the Chieu Trung temple festival as a national intangible cultural heritage to Le Khoi temple in Nam Gioi mountain in Cua Sot seaport.
