Van and Chau Van singing (traditional folk art of northern Vietnam) festival 2019 will be held at Thong temple under Tay Thien cultural centre in Vinh Phuc on March 18-19.
The festival aims to preserve and promote artistic values of Van and Chau Van singing in Tay Thien as part of Mother Goddesses worshipping practices recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity as well as introduce cultural values of Tay Thien – the national relic complex.
The festival has a content of praising the Party, Uncle Hồ, the solidarity, love for homeland, and achievements in national industrialization and modernization, as well as 36 dong (going to trance) sessions of the Mother Goddess worship performed by mediums at temples across the country. The festival is expected to draw the participation of artists, Chau Van singing troupes from districts in Vinh Phuc and other localities.
