With a financial support of 100 million VND from Venerable Thích Viên Ngộ, Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Kỳ and Tuệ Lâm – a Buddhist in Norway, Venerable Thích Chơn Tịnh and the Long An’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Board started to build Ong Bo bridge at Thanh Phu commune, Ben Luc district, Long An.
After 2 months of construction, on July 28, 2014, a ribbon - cutting ceremony was held to inaugurate the bridge.
On this occasion, 100 gifts boxes were distributed to poor families in the locality.
Hoi Long pagoda (Thanh Hoa province) opened medical check-up for 1,300 people
On July 27, Hoi Long pagoda (Hoang Thanh commune, Hoang Hoa, Thanh Hoa province) in collaboration with the provincial Red Cross, Hai Tien Clinic (Hoang Hoa district) organized free medical chek-up for more than 1,300 poor and elderly people, children, relatives of invalids and fallen soldiers… in Hoang Thanh commune.
The medical chek-up and counsel was implemented by doctors from Vietnam Traditional Medicine Academy, Transport Hospital, General Hospital of Hoang Hoa district, Medial Clinic…
Total cost of this operation is about 150 million VND.
Presenting 201 gift boxes to visual -impaired people
On the occasion of Buddhist Parents’ Day, on July 28, a charity delegation from Thua Thien Hue’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha led by Nun Thích Nữ Như Minh, Head of Social Charity Board of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in collaboration with Dieu Vien pagoda (Huong Thuy town) visited and presented gifts to members of the Blind Association who have special difficulties in Huong Tra town.

On the occasion, the delegation presented 50 gift boxes, each box worth 200,000 VND, comprising mainly of food, clothes and cash, and one gift box to a disable child worth 450,000 VND. The total cost was 10,5 million VND
The delegation also presented 125 gift boxes to members of the Blind Association in Huong Phong, Huong Vinh communes (Huong Tra town) with a total value of 46.8 million VND./.
