The People’s Committee in An Giang province issued on June 9 a formal note on changing names of local religious organizations under the Hoa Hao Buddhism.
In the formal note, the provincial people’s committee has approved for changing the name of three Hoa Hao Buddhist’s executive boards under the Hoa Hao Buddhism in the province.
As reported, the Hoa Hao Buddhist’s executive board in Tri Ton district’s Co To commune was renamed as the Hoa Hao Buddhist’s executive board in Co To town, the executive board in Chau Phu district’s Vinh Thanh Trung commue was renamed as the executive board in Vinh Thanh Trung town and the name of the Hoa Hao Buddhist’s executive board in Chau Thanh district’s Vinh Binh commune was changed into the Hoa Hao Buddhist’s executive board in Vinh Binh town.
Last year, the National Assembly Standing Committee approved on December 9 the establishment of Co To town under Tri Ton district, Vinh Thanh Trung town under Chau Phu district and Vinh Binh town under Chau Thanh district, all in An Giang province. Later, the Hoa Hao Buddhist’s central executive committee has proposed authorities in An Giang for changing the names of Hoa Hao Buddhist chapters in the three new towns of the province in accordance with the new names of the three localities.
As reported, An Giang province currently has 136 Hoa Hao Buddhist’s executive boards under the Hoa Hao Buddhism in the province’s 11 districts and provincial cities.
