Ceremony honoring the Buddhist business elites coming to Yen Tu

On April 26th 2014, at Trinh pagoda – Yen Tu, Phuong Dong ward, Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province, the Vietnamese Communist Party Electronic Magazine in cooperation with Quang Ninh’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha organized the programme "Buddhist and business elite’s journey to Yen Tu sacred mountain" with the aim to promote the Buddhist spirit of close attachment to the nation, and foster the tradition “while drinking the water, remembering it’s source” and the philosophical values of Buddhism among businessmen.

Attending the ceremony were the leaders of Quang Ninh’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Buddhist monks and nuns, representatives from local authorities of Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province and more than 400 Buddhist business elites. Representatives from central agencies at the ceremony included Mr Nguyen Manh Hung – Vice Chairman of the Central Party Committee for Mass Mobilization, Mr Bui Thanh Ha – Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr Le Minh Khanh- Deputy Director of Buddhist Affairs Department of the Committee for Religious Affairs, and representatives from The Central Vietnam Fatherland Front.

On behalf of the Leadership of Quang Ninh’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet shared with Buddhist businessmen about humanistic values ​​in Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy in businesses, the thought and national spirit of Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong that should be attached to businessmen’s responsibility nowadays. He said that Buddhists should also strive to do well in businesses and contribute their wisdom and good efforts to the cause of developing Vietnam’ economy.

At the ceremony Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet –Head of Quang Ninh’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Mr Bui Thanh Ha – Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs awarded the "Heart" letter to the business elites in their journey to Yen Tu sacred mountain, and expressed their wish that the "good heart" in every business elite will always shine and Buddhist businessmen will proactively engage in charity activities, contributing to social development of the country.
