Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee held on October 16 an incense offering ceremony in Kien Giang province’s Rach Gia city to commemorate national hero Nguyễn Trung Trực.
Attending the ceremony were General, former Politburo Member Lê Hồng Anh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Văn Huỳnh, representatives from the Southwest Steering Committee and local authorities, and about 10,000 locals and visitors.
The ceremony aimed to pay respect and gratitude to national hero Nguyễn Trung Trực for his great patriotism and glorious sacrifices during the early years of the anti-French Resistance War in the late of 19 century.
Right after the offering incense ceremony, people participated in the procession of his worshiping symbol from Nguyen Trung Truc Temple along the street named after him in Rach Gia city.
