Central VBS reviews Buddhist affairs in Northern region

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council held a meeting to review Buddhist affairs in Northern region at its headquarter (Quan Su pagoda) on May 5, 2015.

The event was chaired by Standing Vice Chairman of Executive Council, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu and attended by Most Venerable Thích Quảng Tùng, Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang, Venerable Thích Quảng Hà, Venerable Thích Thanh Quyết, Members of VBS Central Executive Council, and representatives from provincial VBS Executive Committee in Northern provinces.


Overview of the meeting

During the meeting, representatives of provincial VBS Executive Committees briefed Buddhist affairs in early 2015 and plans for Vesak and summer retreat BE. 2559 – 2015.

According to a working plan for coming months, the Central VBS and provincial VBS Committees will organize a conference on Buddhist clergies in Bai Dinh pagoda in Ninh Bình province and a nationwide training on information-communication in Ba Vang pagoda in Quang Ninh province …

The meeting also called on Buddhist dignitaries and followers to give supports for earthquake relief in Nepal./.
