The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council issued on January 5 a dispatch on the celebration of the Buddha's Enlightenment 2022 with measures for prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
The document was signed by Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council and sent to the VBS’s central institutes and committees, the VBS chapter in provinces and cities, and Buddhist worshipping places across the country.
Accordingly, the VBS central executive council asked the VBS’s central institutes and committees, the VBS chapter in provinces and cities, and Buddhist worshipping places in the country to celebrate the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, such as Buddhist prayers, candle-lighting ceremonies, and other celebrating activities, with a strict implementation of the Covid-19 prevention measures.
Annually, the eight day of the twelve lunar month is the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day and the occasion for monks, nuns, lay Buddhists to promote messages of love-sharing and peace over the world.
