The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) held the annual conference 2015 on Sept. 14-19 at Xuan Loc diocese cathedral in Dong Nai province.
Attending the event included 31 Catholic dignitaries who are Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops and auxiliary Bishops from 25 dioceses across the country.
On Sept. 14, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Ngọc Tấn led a delegation to visit and congratulate the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn extended best wishes to the annual conference and shared about current religious life in Vietnam. He also expressed his hope that the CBCV would always encourage Vietnam Catholics to make positive contributions in the cause of building and developing of the country.
Archbishop President of the CBCV Bùi Văn Đọc expressed his thanks to the GCRA and authorities at all levels for attention and supports extended to the Church over the past years. He also stated that the Catholic Church of Vietnam would remain steadfast and continue to make practical contributions to national building and development.
This conference discussed some issues such as the organization of the Jubilee; the establishment process of Catholic Academy; participation of the upcoming Synod of Bishops on the Family and Pastoral Migration; the pastoral letter 2016; religious activities in dioceses and the CBCV’s Commissions over the past year...
It’s reported that, after the conference, Catholic dignitaries will attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the construction of Our Lady of Cui Mountain Centre at Xuan Loc diocese in Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province ./.
