Catholic solidarity committee in Tra Vinh reviews patriotic emulation movements

The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) in Tra Vinh province held a meeting on December 11 for reviewing the implementation of patriotic emulation movements in 2020.  

The event saw the presence of Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyễn Văn Triết, Priest Peter Trần Văn Kích, Chairman of the provincial CSVC, and members of the provincial CSVC.

The event highlighted the participation of Catholics in patriotic emulation movements and social development programs in 2020, including a contribution of nearly 7.3 billion VND to social charities in the locality.

While praising the provincial CSVC for its practical contributions, Chairman of the provincial VFF Nguyễn Văn Triết urged the provincial CSVC to continue encouraging Catholic followers to proactively participate in social movements launched by local authorities for the socio-economic development in the province.

During the event, the provincial VFF and the provincial CSVC presented certificates of merits to 13 Catholic groups and 18 individuals honoring their outstanding contributions in the patriotic movements in 2020.
