The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) in Thanh Hoa province held on July 9 a meeting to review its affairs in the first six months of 2020.
The event saw the presence of Priest Chairman of the CSVC cum Head of the CSVC in Thanh Hoa province Trần Xuân Mạnh, representatives from the provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial Religious Committee.
The meeting discussed results of the solidarity committee’s activities in past six months, as well as outlined working plans for the last six months of 2020.
According to the meeting report, the provincial CSVC presented over 10,000 gift sets worth over 4.2 billion VND to poor households, raised amongst parishioners 10 billion VND for building rural roads, handed over 44 charity houses valued at over 3 billion VND to disadvantaged families, and contributed over 3.5 billion VND to the Covid-19 prevention work in the province.
