The Committee for Solidarity of Catholics in Soc Trang province has reviewed its activities in the first half of 2018 and outlined working plans for the last six months at a meeting held on July 27.
The meeting saw the participation of Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Soc Trang Mai Thanh Tùng and Vice Chairman of the provincial commission on mass advocacy work Cao Minh Hường.
According the meeting report, Catholic people in the province have contributed over two billion VND to charitable activities for helping the disadvantaged and victims of natural calamities for the past six months. Parishes of Trung Hai, Xuan Ha, Hoa Ly, Hoa Thuong, etc have made valuable contributions for practically improving social infrastructures in the localities and promoting civilized lifestyles in residential areas.
