Catholic solidarity committee in Quang Binh reviews patriotic emulation movements

Quang Binh provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSCV) held a meeting on November 15 for reviewing the implementation of patriotic emulation movements and its performance in the 2014-2017 period.

The event saw the attendance of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Tiến Dũng and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Hoàng Văn Minh.

As reported, the provincial CSCV was established on December 15, 2014 with 29 members representing Catholic dignitaries, pastoral councils and followers in the province. For the past three years, the provincial CSCV have encouraged local Catholics to proactively join in patriotic movements launched by local authorities and make practical contributions to socio-economic development in the locality.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Trần Tiến Dũng praised local Catholic followers for their contributions over the past three years. He also asked the provincial CSCV would encourage Catholic followers to further proactively participate in local movements, contributing to social stability, socio-economic development in the locality.

On the occasion, local authorities presented certificates of merits to six Catholic individuals for their outstanding contributions in the patriotic movements over the past three years.
