The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Hanoi held on December 9 an annual meeting to review its performance 2019 and outline plans for the next year.
Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi presents certificates of commendation to Catholic groups and individuals
As reported at the meeting, the Catholic solidarity committee in the city has successfully encouraged local Catholics to proactively get involved in social programs and movements launched for socio-economic development and environmental protection in the city.
In particular, 18 of 30 households of Xuan Duc Catholic community in Soc Son district has contributed 200 square meter of residing land for constructing over 40 meter of rural roads.
The Catholic solidarity committee has also collaborated with the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in disseminating the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and its guiding Decree 162, and legal provisions relating to religion-related land and construction to members of the Catholic solidarity committee.
On the occasion, the VFF in Hanoi and the municipal Catholic solidarity committee presented certificates of commendation to 95 Catholic groups and individuals for their outstanding social contributions in the city in 2019.
