The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) in Ben Tre province held on January 12 a conference for reviewing the implementation of patriotic emulation movement amongst the Catholic community in the province in 2020.
The event saw the participation of Priest Paul Khổng Đức Ý, Chairman of the provincial CSVC, Priest Jean Baptiste Huỳnh Cao Thượng and Priest Peter Nguyễn Thanh Dũng and Mr. Lưu Văn Hòa, Vice Chairmen of the provincial CSVC, and representatives from the Catholic solidarity board in 9 districts of the province.
Local guests at the event included representatives from the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and the district- level Vietnam Fatherland Front Boards.
As reported at the meeting, for the last year, Catholic compatriots in the province have proactively participated in social, environmental movements and programs launched in Ben Tre and spent over 10 billion VND on charitable activities in localities.
