Last items of the first construction phase of Yen Dai parish’s church located in Vinh city’s Nghi Phu commune are being completed for approaching Christmas 2018.

The construction for the new parish church was started in 2013 replacing the original church built in the early years of the twentieth century. As reported, the total construction cost for the new church is estimated at VND 100 billion, mostly contributed by the parishioners, sponsors and local Catholic expatriates. Once completed, the new worshipping facility will meet religious practice of over 5,500 parishioners of Dong Kien, Dong Yen and Dong Tan Catholic communities under Yen Dai parish.

Earlier in October, Yen Dai parish hung five bells cast in France, one of them weighs over 1,000 kilograms.

Yen Dai parish under Cau Ram deanery in Vinh city was separated from Lang Anh parish located in Nghi Loc district in 1923. The parish is currently administered by Priest Jean Baptiste Hoàng Xuân Lập.
