Catholic humanitarian school in Tien Giang province opens free swimming class for disabled children

The Nhan Ai Disabled School in collaboration with My Tho swimming centre has opened a free swimming class for 107 children with disabilities of the school in an effort to reduce child drowning accidents.
The course will be held in nine months, from May 2016 to January 2017, at the cost of about 89 million VND (US$5,200). The course is funded by the Australian Water Safety on the Mekong (AWSOM) Project, with the aim to equip the children with skills to save themselves from drowning.
Nhan Ai Disabled School is a humanitarian center under My Tho diocese and It’s currently supervised by Sister Nguyễn Thị Sương from Sisters of Saint Paul de Chartres. The school presently takes care and provides vocational training for mute and deaf children from 6 to 15 years old.
