The Office of Ha Tinh diocese issued on August 7 a notification asking priests and Catholics in the diocese to strengthen measures for Covid-19 pandemic preventions in Ha Tinh province.
Ha Tinh diocese, covering Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces and for recent days having been receiving people from Ho Chi Minh City that hit hard by Covid-19, has called on local people to proactively strengthen measures for Covid-19 pandemic preventions.
The diocese also encouraged its priests and parishioners to continue helping all people returning from pandemic-hit areas while strictly observing Covid-19 prevention and control measures.
The diocese urged local Catholics to attend masses at the church and online in turn, in order to ensure medical safety and continuum of community activities.
The diocese also called for more social charity activities such as presenting gas money, food and other necessities for people returning to their hometowns passing through the parish, offering charity meals for isolated areas, etc.
*On August 2, Xuan Loc diocese sent a note to priests, clergies and seminarians and lay Catholics urging for more practical activities in helping Covid-19 patients.
As reported, the first medical charity team with the participation of 102 priests and clergymen, clergywomen have been joining local authorities in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work in the province since July. The second team including over 100 priests, deacons, seminarians and Catholic youth will start joining the work this week.
In addition, Xuan Loc diocese has presented six Carescape R860 ventilators at hospitals in Dong Nai province.
Caritas of the parishes, priests and parishioners in the diocese and other sponsors have been presenting daily necessities to local people, regardless of religion. The Major Seminary and parishes have also been providing meals for nurses and people in the checkpoint areas.

In Binh Thuan province, Bishop of Phan Thiet diocese Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng has sent a letter to priests, clergymen, clergywomen, seminarians and lay Catholics calling for voluntary and charitable activities supporting the Covid-19 prevention work in the province.
The Bishop urged all priests, clergymen, clergywomen and parishioners in the diocese who have good health, no underlying diseases, and some basic medical skills to register for this volunteer work.
As informed, clergymen, clergywomen in the diocese would register with their congregations and orders, while Voluntary parishioners with priests of the parishes. The diocese Caritas would organize necessary trainings, apply for appropriate documents and register for the vaccine for the volunteers.
