During the visiting reception, while extending traditional New Year greetings to officials of the provincial government, Bishop Thomas Vũ Đình Hiệu took the chance to thank the provincial authorities for facilitating Catholic practices in the locality.

Speaking with the guests, leaders of the provincial authorities informed the guests about the socio-economic development in the province in 2017 and development targets set for 2018, and expressed hope that Bui Chu diocese would further encourage local Catholics to proactively participate in movements and programs launched for boosting the socio-economic development in the province.
