On March 17, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Dong Thap province supported 20 million VND and the VBS’s Executive Board in Sa Dec city contributed 10 million VND to the Covid-19 prevention fund, both sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the province.
On the same day, Senior Venerable Thích Huệ Phát, Member of the Social Charity Board under the provincial VBS’s chapter provided 2,000 free facemasks, worth 10 million VND, to relatives of patients in the lung hospital and the provincial traditional medicine hospital.
Earlier, on March 19, the provincial Buddhist charity board and charity groups from Ho Chi Minh city and Sa Dec city handed over two charity houses, worth 95 million VND and presented living necessities to two poor families from Phu An village of An Phu Thuan commune, the province’s Chau Thanh district.
