During the complicated context of Covid-19 pandemic in neighboring provinces of Tien Giang, Vinh Long and Tra Vinh, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Ben Tre province issued on July 1 a notification requesting VBS executive boards and worshipping places in districts and cities to continue strictly observing preventive measures against the pandemic.

The provincial VBS requested Buddhist worshipping places in the locality to strictly observe the 5k recommendation and other preventive measures against Covid-19 pandemic, as well as suspend all Buddhist practices with large gatherings.

The provincial VBS also asked VBS executive boards to encourage lay Buddhists and sponsors to actively support the Government's Covid-19 vaccine fund and the call for supporting the pandemic prevention and control launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

As reported, most Buddhist worshipping places in the locality have hung sign boards informing the suspension of all religious practices.
