Vinh Trang Pagoda located in Tien Giang province’s My Tho city where the office of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in the province was based solemnly inaugurated its Buddhist tower and new training hall at a ceremony held on June 23.
Attending the ceremony included Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Discernment Council Thích Bửu Thông, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Giác Toàn, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Huệ Minh, local authorities’ representatives and about 200 monks, nuns and followers from the localities.
As reported, the construction of a seven-story Buddhist tower on an area of 43 m2 and a new training hall on an area of 475 m2 was started in 2012 and completed after five years of construction at the total cost of about VND 17 billion, which was contributed by Buddhist devotees and sponsors across the country.
