The executive committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held on August 19 a solemn closing ceremony for the summer retreat course 2018 (B.E. 2562).
Attending the ceremony taking place in Dai Tong Lam Buddhist complex located in the province’s PHu My city were Buddhist digtarites and representatives of state authorities in the province, as well as 1,000 monks and nuns of this year’s Buddhist retreat course.
As reported at the meeting, the summer course this year took place at nine venues and drew the participation of over 1,800 monks and nuns.
In addition to Buddhist teachings, practices and administrative regulations, the organization board of the course has invited the provincial committee for religious affairs to introduce key contents of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding decree No. 162 that have already taken effect since January this year.
