The society for solidarity of patriotic Buddhist monks in Kien Giang province’s Hon Dat district successfully held on November 19 its 5th general meeting for the 2019-2024 tenure.
The event taking place in Soc Xoai pagoda located in Soc Son town saw the presence of Most Venerable Danh Đổng, Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee and key Buddhist representing eight pagodas in the district.
Local guests at the event include Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Danh Lắm and local authorities’ representatives.
The general meeting elected 15 members to the Buddhist society’s executive board in the district for the 2019 – 2024 tenure with Senior Venerable Danh Phản, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee, reelected as the society Chairman.
