The event saw the presence of representatives from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council, the provincial VBS Executive Committee, the society for solidarity of patriotic Buddhist monks in localities, and 177 delegates from Theravada Buddhism in the province.

Local guests at the event included Deputy Head of the provincial Party Committee Đặng Tuyết Em and representatives from local authorities.

As reviewed at the event, over the past five years, local Khmer Buddhist contributed over 24 billion VND to social, charitable program in the locality. In addition, the provincial Buddhist society also organized disseminating conferences on the State law for 10,000 Buddhists in the province.

The general meeting elected 35 members to the Buddhist society’s executive committee in the province for the 2019 – 2024 tenure with Venerable Danh Đổng selected as the society Chairman.

On the occasion, local authorities presented certificates of merit to 18 Buddhist groups and 26 Buddhist followers for their outstanding contributions in the 2014-2019 period.
