Buddhist School in Gia Lai opens new school year

The new school year of the Buddhist High School under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Gia Lai province was solemnly opened at a ceremony held on September 21 in Buu Thang pagoda located in the province’s Pleiku city.  

Present at the ceremony included Most Venerable Member of the central VBS’s Discernment Council Thích Trí Thạnh, Most Venerable Member of the central VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province Thích Từ Vân, Most Venerable Head of the Buddhist High School Thích Tâm Tường, and Buddhist dignitaries from the discernment committee, executive committee and Buddhist High School, and enrolling monks and nuns.

As reported, the 3rd Buddhist course (2018-2021) at the school currently has 39 student monks and nuns; 14 monks and nuns achieved excellent results at the second year of the course.

On the occasion, the VBS’s executive committee in the province presented certificates of recommendation to monks and nuns who got excellent academic results of the 3rd Buddhist course last year.
