The event was co-organized by the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), the Society for Public Health Education, the Science Technology Union for Informatics Application (UIA) and the Institute for the Achievements of Human Potential.

The two-day requiem program included Buddhist rituals of chanting the Bhaisajyaguru Mantra and the Kshitigarbha Bodhisattva, incense offering at Truong Son and Quang Tri martyrs cemeteries and prayers for soldiers who recently sacrificed on two crashing planes in the East Sea.
