A solemn requiem for fallen soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Laos took place on May 7 at Nam National Cemetery in Ha Tinh province’s Huong Son district.
The requiem co-organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in the province, Huong Son district authorities and the provincial youth union was attended by Venerable Vice Chairmen of the provincial VBS chapter’s executive committee Thích Hạnh Nhẫn and Thích Quảng Nguyên, a delegation from the Military Zone 4 headed by Major General Deputy Political Commissar Nguyễn Đức Hóa, a delegation from Laos, Vietnamese heroic mothers, relatives of fallen soldiers, and large numbers of monks, nuns and Buddhists.

The requiem aims to honor all those who sacrificed their life and contributed merits to the nation during the past struggle for national independence.
Later on May 8, a ritual for reburial of remains of 12 martyrs was also held at Nam National Cemetery.
