Buddhist requiem and rituals for burial of martyrs' remains ceremony held in Binh Phuoc

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Binh Phuoc province in collaboration with local authorities held on December 24 a requiem and rituals for burial of martyrs’ remains at the provincial cemetery.  

The event was held on occasion of the 76th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s military and the 75th anniversary of the provincial armed forces.

Attending the event included Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province; Chairwoman of the provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization cum Head of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Lê Thị Xuân Trang; Senior Venerable Thích Tỉnh Cường, Vice Chairman of the VBS executive committee; Superior Nun Thích nữ Nhật Khương, Head of Nun Affairs Sub-Committee in the province; and large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and relatives of martyrs buried in the cemetery.

During the ceremony, Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and participants together performed traditional rites for the spiritual uplifting of martyrs.

Later, 58 martyrs’ remains founded in Loc Ninh border district in the province were buried in solemn rituals.
