Buddhist pagodas join hands Covid-19 prevention

In responding a call of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Central Committee, Buddhist pagodas in provinces of Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nghe An and Dong Thap have presented free facemasks to patients and local people prevention of Covid-19 epidemic.  

In Quang Ninh province, on March 20-23, Tieu Dao pagoda handed over 2,000 facemasks to three hospitals of Tuberculosis, Children and Bai Chay, and 3,000 antibacterial masks to local people and Buddhists.

In Dong Thap province, Phuoc Huong pagoda in Sa Dec city on March 23 gave away 2,000 facemasks to local residents.

In Nghe An province, the Golden Lotus Buddhist youth club of Diec pagoda in Vinh city on March 22 presented 2,000 free facemasks to workers in the city.

Van Phuc pagoda located in Ha Tinh province’s Nghi Xuan district in collaboration with the Tax office in Vinh city on March 21 handed over 3,000 free facemasks to local people and distributed leaflets on Covid-19 prevention in Vinh city and the ethnic minority high school in Nghe An province.

Earlier, in Thai Binh province, Keo pagoda located in Duy Nhat commune, Vu Thu district also presented 3,000 facemasks to Vu Thu district authorities on March 19.
