Buddhist pagodas in Tien Giang hold Mid-Autumn Festivals for local children

Several Buddhist establishments in Tien Giang province have organized separate Mid-Autumn programs for children in the locality.  

During the programs, the Buddhist pagodas presented over 5,000 gift sets containing mooncakes, candies and lanterns, valued at over 270 million VND in total.

Specifying, Linh Son, Binh Linh and An Duong pagodas in Go Cong Tay district contributed 1,800 gift sets; Nam An and Phuoc Lam pagodas in Chau Thanh district presented 1,200 gift sets; Kim Tien and Long Thanh pagodas in Cai Lay provincial city offered 650 gift sets; Phuoc Son pagoda in Cho Gao district presented 800 gift sets; Phu Khanh pagoda in Tan Phuoc district handed out 500 gift sets, and Hoi Phuoc pagoda in Cai Be district contributed 200 gift sets.

This year, taking preventives measures against Covid-19 pandemic, the mid-autumn programs have been scaled down, and participating children have been checked for body temperature before joining the programs.

The festival held annually by many Buddhist worshipping places in the province often featuring a Lion dance, Uncle Cuoi and Lady Performances aims to help children understanding and respect traditional values in the country.
