Buddhist pagoda in Tien Giang receives ashes of Covid-19 infected deaths

Truong Sanh pagoda located in Tien Giang province’s My Tho city currently has five Buddhist monks and nearly 400 lay Buddhists, and managed by Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Lộc.

In the complicated context of Covid-19 pandemic starting from June 2021, Tien Giang province had three Covid-19 cases died due to old age and severe underlying diseases and didn’t have any relatives to take care of their funeral after the cremation, because their relatives were also infected with Covid-19 pandemic and having stayed in quarantine areas. Up on agreements their relatives, Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Lộc has received ashes and performed requiem for these Covid-19 deaths, and the pagoda will return these ashes to families when the relatives are cured.

As reported, over the past years, Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Lộc has made practical contributions for, poverty reduction, education promotion, rural development and the covid-19 pandemic prevention fund.
