Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Ngọc, Abbot of Canh Linh pagoda (Kim Thanh district, Hai Duong province) and a group of Buddhists organized a charity program for poor people in Ha Giang province on May 9-10.
The program presented 60 tons of rice and 3,000 facemasks to ethnic minority groups of Mong, Dao and Lo Lo, etc residing in bordering communes of Ha Giang’s Meo Vac and Dong Van districts.
According to the Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Ngọc, Canh Linh pagoda initially pledged to donate 20 tons of rice and then, Buddhists and sponsors contributed to the rest for supporting the disadvantaged people in the province to overcome the impact of Covid-19.
