A large Buddhist ceremony to pray Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang took place on September 23 in Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda located in Ho Chi Minh City.
Joining the ceremony held by the executive committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in the city included dignitaries from the VBS’s central discernment council and executive council, and large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and believers in the locality.
While leading the commemoration ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng, Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha cum Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS chapter in Ho Chi Minh City recalled merits and contributions made by Former President Trần Đại Quang to the Buddhist Dharma and the Vietnam Buddhist church.

President Trần Đại Quang passed away on Friday in Hanoi at the age of 62 due to a serious illness. He was elected State President of Vietnam in 2016.
